Chicago!
Once again Brianna Firestone has blown me away. She is able to go from the sweet, girl-next- door,Julia in The Wedding Singer to sassy Roxie Hart with out missing a beat. This production of Chicago was phenomenal. The actors were amazing, singing and dancing their hearts out, with the live band right along beside them the whole way. One would think that putting on a production as big as this would require a ton of special effects and costume changes but that is not the case. They were able to pull it off with no costume changes, the only set pieces about a dozen chairs, and minimal props. Yet, the audience does not going wanting. The aesthetic appeal of the solely black, white and red set and costumes and "all that jazz" add a sort of sexy, dangerous aura to the play. This musical definitely had the audience on their feet yelling "Roxie!"
